Our Services

We Provide The Following Services:

Police Station Representation

You can contact our emergency police station advice line 24 hours a day, any day.

When you ask to be represented by Law 24 at the police station you will receive an immediate phone call from one of our solicitors.

From the point you nominate us we will monitor your case and liaise directly with the police until you are released.

We believe that the best way to effectively advise clients is to speak to them face to face so our solicitors will always attend at the police station in person to represent you in your interview.

We recognise that a criminal case is at its most critical at the police station stage. For that reason all of our solicitors are police station accredited which means that they can represent clients from the very beginning of the case and provide continuity if the case goes to court. Avoiding mistakes at the police station is crucial to achieving success at court or avoiding court altogether.

Magistrates’ Court Representation

Our solicitors regularly represent clients who are appearing in the magistrates’ court.

All criminal cases start in the magistrates’ court so if you have been charged with an offence you will have at least one magistrates’ court hearing to attend.

Ensuring that you have a skilful and experienced solicitor to represent you at the magistrates’ court almost always helps you to achieve a better result.  Some examples of this include:

  • Ensuring that cases where the evidence is weak are properly challenged or, better still, stopped at an early stage.
  • Persuading the prosecution to reduce the charge or not to proceed with it at all.
  • Persuading the magistrates’ that the case is less serious than the prosecution allege and need not be sent to the crown court.
  • Vigorously defending you at trial with a view to an acquittal (in cases where a not guilty plea is entered).
  • Arguing for the most lenient penalties (in cases where a guilty plea is entered).

Crown Court Representation

Law 24 regularly represents clients appearing in the Crown Court.

By their nature Crown Court cases are serious and can have far reaching consequences for the person accused.

We understand the importance of preparation and attention to detail when preparing a crown court case and will explore all possible avenues when preparing your case. We will work with you for as long as it takes to achieve the best possible result.

Anyone involved in a Crown Court case needs an experienced and dedicated legal team behind them. Having skilful and experienced legal representation at the Crown Court is important for the following reasons:

  • To ensure that cases where the evidence is weak are properly challenged or, better still, stopped at an early stage.
  • To persuade the prosecution, where possible, to reduce the charge or not to proceed with it at all.
  • To vigorously defending you at trial with a view to an acquittal (in cases where a not guilty plea is entered).
  • To argue for the most lenient penalties (in cases where a guilty plea is entered).

We have access to the best criminal barristers across the country which means that you will have the best legal team to represent you.

Youth Court Representation

Law 24 regularly represents clients in the Youth Court.

We believe that Youth Court cases require particular care and attention. Many cases that are dealt with in the Youth Court would be serious enough to go to the crown court if the defendant was an adult and even less serious cases have the potential to affect a young person’s future.

Court proceedings can be stressful and difficult for defendants of any age. We understand that this is particularly the case for young people and their parents. We also recognise that the needs of young defendants are often different to the needs of adults.  Our experienced solicitors are friendly and approachable and guide our young clients through their cases explaining the processes at every stage.

Appeals

We offer advice on appealing against crown court convictions and sentences.

If you have been convicted after a trial by judge and jury at the crown court and believe that a legal or procedural error or other unfairness resulted in your wrongful conviction we may be able to help.

We may also be able to help if you have been sentenced by a Judge at the Crown Court and believe that your sentence was excessive.

We cover all criminal offences but have special expertise in the following:

Murder and Serious Violence

Firearms Offences

Drugs Offences including Importation and Supply

Rape and Sexual Offences

Kidnapping

Money Laundering

Conspiracy Charges

Serious Fraud
